Join us and the National Park Service for the 33rd Annual Sand Sculpture Contest at Drakes Beach Sunday August 31, 2014 from 9 am–3:30 pm.

This free annual event is sponsored by Point Reyes National Seashore Association and is loads of fun for all members of your family. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day enjoying the beach. Free beach fire permits are available at the visitor center depending on fire danger. This event is family based, but please remember no dogs are allowed on this designated swimming beach (no lifeguard on duty), but can be on leash in the parking lot picnic areas. Limited space.

Prizes are awarded several age and group categories by a group of local judges. Categories include: Children (14 and under), Families, Adult Individuals, and Adult Groups. Three prizes will be awarded in each of those categories, along with prizes for the sculpture with the most recycled plastic included.

  • Registration begins at 9 am at the Ken Patrick Visitor Center
