Thank you to all the sponsors, inkind donors, volunteers, and the 310 guests who celebrated Point Reyes National Seashore's 50th anniversy at Dinner on the Pacific Plate, our annual fundraising event held on September 22, 2012. We started the afternoon with a hike, enjoyed perfect weather for cocktails in the grove at Bear Valley, and enjoyed a delicious dinner by Pam Ferrari under an elegant tent. Proceeds from the dinner and online auction totaled $156,000, including $37,150 raised during the fund a need portion of the event for scholarships for underserved children to attend our year round environmental education programs. Special thanks to the Work-In-Progress Fund of the Tides Foundation for its $15,000 match of the scholarship appeal at the dinner.
