PRNSA's new Seashore Youth Ambassadors project aims to deepen and expand the way middle and high school age youth from neighboring towns connect with Point Reyes National Seashore.
Seashore Youth Ambassadors is providing local underserved youth with environmental education and wilderness recreation experiences while exposing them to career pathways within the National Park Service and deepening their understanding and enjoyment of their local National Seashore. To foster leadership development, the project will culminate in an activity planned and executed by participants that will share their newly acquired knowledge with other youth who have never visited Point Reyes National Seashore.
Seashore Youth Ambassadors is funded by the National Park Foundation's America's Best Idea Grant, an initiative aimed at providing underserved young people with access to and meaningful experiences within our National Seashores, Monuments, Historic Sites, and Parks.
This project is a collaboration between PRNSA, West Marin School, Tomales Bay Youth Center, and the National Park Service at Point Reyes National Seashore.
