Michelle Walker

Michelle grew up in the Bay Area and after high school spent the next eighteen years in the mountains and deserts of Utah, Idaho, Alaska, and Colorado. She just made a massive and intentional return to the Pacific Coast and could not be more excited to join the PRNSA Education Team. Her passions include watercolor painting, writing, film photography, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, and searching out the best spots to watch the moon. She has a great interest in community healing and building. Her background is in education and she taught High school literature, art, poetry, and filmmaking in Utah for over a decade. She is a licensed teacher and most recently worked with a team of womxn and bipoc filmmakers as the Education Lead Manager of the Utah Film Center to help students in rural Utah and Native American Reservations make documentaries about their own lives. She is a master storyteller, avid documenter, and active listener. She earned her Bachelors of Arts and teaching licenses in English Teaching and Art Education from BYU Provo.
