YIP is reshaping access at the Seashore by building partnerships that bring outdoor education and recreation experiences to youth from communities historically not welcomed on public land. Most participants have never been to our park and, in many cases, have never seen the ocean. Through full-day and overnight programs co-created with community-based organizations from across the Bay Area, we’ve welcomed over 5,000 youth, chaperones, and family members to Point Reyes since 2021. Together, we are transforming public lands into accessible, welcoming spaces for all.
