Field Institute

Through the Field Institute we offer classes in natural history, visual arts, writing, and local history. These fee-based programs are taught by local naturalists and experts, and take place at various locations in and around the park throughout the year. From kayaking to forest bathing, there’s something to suit everyone’s interests and the chance to learn something new.

Get to the Point

Get to the Point programs offer free and low cost opportunities for friends and families to enjoy the park and learn together in a more casual setting. Ranging in size from small group backpacking trips for first-timers to whale watching at the point, and including larger events like the annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids, these programs are a great way for those new the park or just looking for new experiences to discover Point Reyes in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Inclusion and accessibility are cornerstones of Get to the Point programs. Outreach activities and programs led in Spanish are only some of the ways we connect neighboring communities with the park. Please let us know if there is a need in your community for a supported park program. We’d love to connect!

Monthly Webinar Series

Learning and discovery don’t stop when you leave the park. Through our monthly Park in Place webinar series, we invite you to tune in to meet local experts and learn about park science and research, the secret lives of animals, and stories of people in the park. Keep up your Point Reyes connection no matter where you are.
