How You Can Support the Seashore

Like all national parks, Point Reyes is being impacted by the executive orders you are seeing in the news. Staffing cuts, funding and hiring freezes, and overall uncertainty are weighing on park staff and the community of people who care for this place. PRNSA has re-doubled its commitment to our shared conservation, education, and community-building work, and we invite you to join us in supporting the park at this critical time.

What You Can Do to Help

Become a Member

Last year, PRNSA was able to fund 25 conservation projects at the Seashore, and we contributed 15,000 hours of staff time dedicated to conservation work. By donating or becoming a member today, you’re directly supporting the projects that maintain the Seashore’s unique natural and cultural resources, and open spaces that belong to us all—which is increasingly important at this critical time.

Volunteer

Giving back is a great way to connect with others who care for this extraordinary park. Volunteers are essential partners in maintaining and growing park projects—through stewardship, restoring habitat, monitoring species, and educating visitors. Join us and park staff at Abbotts Lagoon every other Thursday to help restore critical coastal dune habitat through our Thursday Weeders program, and email Volunteer Manager Cristobal Castaneda Salazar for more details on volunteering at the park.

Contact Your Representatives

If you are concerned about the impacts of reduced funding and staffing for national parks, contact your elected officials and urge them to advocate for the preservation of our remarkable public lands, including Point Reyes, for generations to come.

Plan a Visit!

There are so many ways to enjoy the Seashore. PRNSA offers classes, gatherings, and programs to help you explore, learn, and connect with the landscapes and species of Point Reyes. Show your support by planning a visit, and remember to Leave No Trace—especially as the Park faces reduced staff capacity. Stop by our park stores, where proceeds support conservation, education, and research programs within the park, and PRNSA members enjoy a 15% discount! Be sure to say hello to rangers on duty and share your appreciation for the work they do as stewards, educators, researchers, and protectors of this place.
