Dr. Chris Pincetich works the Point Reyes National Seashore Association, The Oceanic Society, and Sea Turtles Forever as a marine biologist and environmental educator. Chris has a doctorate in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Davis and a B.S. in Marine Biology from University of California, Santa Cruz. His passion for promoting ocean and sea turtle conservation has been shared through speaking engagements ranging from international scientific conferences to elementary school classrooms. Studying marine debris on shorelines and in marine endangered species habitats and using those experiences to teach ways to reduce marine debris sources and prevent marine debris from occurring is the focus of his current work. Dr. Pincetich has led marine debris density research throughout the Point Reyes peninsula for over four years, on Costa Rican sea turtle nesting beaches for three years, and is currently investigating the ways toxic chemicals in plastic pollution enter endangered sea turtles and their habitat.
