Kristin Meuser was born and raised in the Bay Area and has spent her life painting the land. She graduated from UC Berkeley where she received the Dean’s Award in painting and went on to study graphic design after a year in NYC where she taught art at Riker’s Island women’s prison. Her paintings have been represented by the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite, are found in private collections, and have been shown regionally.
Her many years as a graphic designer give her colorful journal pages a sense of balance and spontaneity that call in all aspects of the experience of journaling in nature. A long time student of John Muir Laws, she has transformed her love for plein air painting into a passion for nature journaling. As a teacher she gives students the confidence and skills to open up to the delightful world of nature journaling. She teaches throughout northern California and lives in Petaluma.
