Thank You for Celebrating Year 16 With Us!

Thanks to the dedicated community who loves Point Reyes National Seashore, our 16th annual Party on the Pacific Plate on September 20th was a celebration to remember! This year’s event was centered around the theme of “Resilience in Community,” and seeing 400+ friends come together to celebrate the Seashore reaffirmed the magic which happens when we stand strong together, collectively navigating uncertain times at Point Reyes and in our communities.

Our celebrations began with afternoon excursions throughout the Seashore to get to know the park’s ecosystems and the collaborative efforts to care for them. Through spending time with National Park Service staff, Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA) conservation staff, and visiting naturalists, guests deepened their knowledge on marine mammals, grassland restoration, fire recovery, plant medicine, Coast Miwok stewardship, and more. The celebration continued as guests gathered (and danced!) under the trees at Bear Valley, grooving to the rhythms of SambaDá and enjoying a harvest meal featuring local bounty.

This year’s event felt extra special thanks to the talented creatives who helped it come to life. Maria Finn, author of Forage. Gather. Feast., developed our delicious menu this year alongside A Fork Full of Earth, and Lela Shields skillfully wove the Seashore’s many natural wonders into a painting revealed at the party titled Resilience in Community.

We are so grateful to the staff from Project Avary, who shared from the stage how their work with PRNSA supports their mission to create space for children of incarcerated parents to experience community, belonging, and long-term support. Together, Project Avary and PRNSA are connecting diverse youth to the Seashore to expand the community of people who love, understand, and care for places like Point Reyes National Seashore and beyond.

I am proud to share that we raised $508,000 in combined sponsorships, ticket sales, and the on-site Fund A Need appeal to support our conservation, education, and community-building work. We are so grateful to those who came together—including sponsors, National Park Service colleagues, the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, Youth in Parks partners, local businesses, volunteers, and PRNSA staff—for a wonderful day in the park and for the funds that will sustain and expand our work in the months to come.

In community,

Donna Faure
Executive Director
Point Reyes National Seashore Association
