Exploring the Seashore’s Birding Hotspots in 2026

Happy new year! What better way to start 2026 than spending time birding in Point Reyes? The 2026 Point Reyes Hiking Calendar celebrates birding with a new hike every month featuring many of the iconic avian species of the Seashore. On the trails, you’ll find familiar birds year-round, like the stalwart great blue heron at Abbotts Lagoon, along with seasonal visitors passing through, like the Swainson’s thrush, which breeds in our riparian forests in summer.
