Photography with Today’s Cameras

Take the mystery and frustration out of getting successful, exciting photos and learn tips to spark your creativity and excitement!

Working through the technical buttons and wheels on your camera can be overwhelming; this class will help take the mystery and frustration out of getting successful, exciting photos. Working through the functions of your camera as well as basic principles of photography will spark your creativity and excitement.

Through discussion and demonstrations we will help to demystify some of the challenges in digital photography.

Technical Topics we will cover during this workshop:

  • Getting a good Exposure
  • Focus –getting sharp photos
  • Working with available light vs flash
  • Action Shots
  • HDR
  • Panoramas
  • Filters, Diffusers, Reflectors as augmented tools

We will also present elements of compositional creativity; so that you are able to “shoot what you see” and bring home beautiful, crisp photos.

Once you have the practical, technical aspects under your belt, you will be able to expand your photography with inspiration and knowledge to create photos that do not disappoint.

This event is appropriate for photographers of all levels and all interests— (albeit landscapes, nature, sports, travel, macro, or people/animals), with all equipment. For those who are new to photography, this weekend will get you started with having the inspiration of beautiful Pt Reyes; and for those who are more advanced– there will be techniques and tips to help solidify and move your photography along to the next level.

Susan and Neil Silverman are a husband-wife team who have taught and photographed together for over twenty years. They have been leading their own workshops for over fifteen years and taught for Great American Photography Workshops; for BetterPhoto.com, Santa Fe School, PPA affiliates, PPC, B&H Photo, Pacific North West Art School, Gualala Arts Center and the Santa Rosa Junior College. They have embraced the technology and creative aspects of the digital cameras and love sharing the excitement and immediate satisfaction that they offer.
