Field Sketching with Paint
August 3, 2024Bring your favorite sketching materials, including pen, pencils, watercolors and sketch book in a small backpack or shoulder bag.
We will walk the trail, and stop to sketch or paint and making quick paintings or drawings. Joan demonstrates composition, color and brushwork and works with you individually to meet your goals.
Learn how to set-up and break-down and pack your painting and sketching materials. We will do multiple sketches in paint or drawings while we seek different subjects to capture ideas quickly. We evaluate the sketches after returning to our trailhead. Find camaraderie with other beginner or advanced artists as we learn from each other.
Joan Hoffmann has taught painting, drawing and woodblock printing with PRNSA for over twenty years. The Pt. Reyes Seashore landscape is home to her. She creates impressionistic landscapes in oil, watercolor and woodblocks. She lives in Vermont, but she grew up in California, and started her art career in California and the west. www.joanhoffmann.com
