Point Reyes Trails Forever

Point Reyes Trails Forever envisions a trail system that protects the Seashore’s thriving ecosystems, honors the land’s rich cultural heritage, and provides access to experiences that inspire people of all backgrounds and abilities to connect with this beloved place.

About Trails Forever

Point Reyes National Seashore is made up of spectacular natural areas and historic sites that are loved and enjoyed by park visitors from around the world. However, most of the current trail system are legacy ranch and logging roads, rather than an intentionally designed network to introduce visitors to the land and protect the surrounding ecosystems.

We’re excited to introduce the Point Reyes Trails Forever initiative, a historic collaboration between Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, the National Park Service, and Point Reyes National Seashore Association. This unique partnership has come together to create a trail planning framework that does more than just map paths—it weaves together stories of the land, honors cultural heritage and traditions, and protects the wild beauty that makes Point Reyes a national treasure.
