Thank You for Celebrating Year 17 With Us!

Thanks to the dedicated community who loves Point Reyes National Seashore, our 17th annual Party on the Pacific Plate on September 19th was a celebration to remember! Seeing hundreds of friends come together in this place we all love was heartwarming and so affirming of the work we collectively do to care for and share the Seashore with all.

Guests who joined us on our pre-party walks, talks, and excursions saw “Listening to the Land” in action, as NPS and PRNSA staff were joined by partners and naturalists to share a glimpse into the critical conservation and restoration work that happens year-round at the park, informed by the land itself and what our habitats and wildlife need from us as stewards.

We are so grateful to the staff from Oakland Goes Outdoors (OGO), who shared from the stage how their work with PRNSA supports their mission to help remove barriers to outdoor learning and ensure more Oakland students have the opportunity to explore and connect in our national parks. We invite you to learn more about their programs and appreciate your support of Youth in Parks, which allows us to partner with OGO and 44 other partner groups to host overnight and daytime education, recreation, and stewardship programs in the park throughout the year.

I am proud to share that this event was our most successful ever. We raised $661,950 overall in support of our conservation, education, and community-building efforts. We are so grateful to our sponsors, National Park Service colleagues, the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, Youth in Parks partners, local businesses, volunteers, and hike leaders that helped make this event special. Thank you for helping us care for the diverse ecosystems at Point Reyes and welcome thousands of youth and family members to the park as we continue to grow (and celebrate) the community of people who love this special place.
