Nicole Myers

Nicole Myers, M.S. in Geological Sciences, developed a passion for understanding the Earth from a childhood fascination with rocks and volcanoes. Following years of volcanic eruption dynamics research, in 2007 Nicole chose to focus on teaching others to appreciate planet Earth at Sonoma State University (SSU), Santa Rosa Junior College, and College of Marin where she has taught lecture & field classes on every Earth Science subject. Currently, Nicole offers popular classes such as Age of the Dinosaurs, Natural Disasters, and Geology of Climate Change through the SSU Geology Department, and teaches Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) classes through SSU. In addition to Earth Science, Nicole teaches yoga and fitness classes at Blue Door Yoga and Wellness in Penngrove, where she offers anatomical alignment-focused movement group classes and private sessions, and anatomy of fitness workshops. Nicole brings her enthusiasm for Earth appreciation to the community through her business, Appreciating Earth, www.appreciatingearth.com, through which she offers sustainability awareness, anatomical evolution content, geology resources, and Earth science field explorations and presentations.
