Vienna Rist

Vienna (she/her) is enthusiastic about the role of multispecies collaboration in building resilient ecosystems and futures for all. She has a BA in Science and Technology Studies and Hispanic Literature from Wesleyan University where she wrote her undergraduate thesis on the efforts to save the California condor as a case study for understanding the role of researchers and practitioners in conservation. While Vienna previously worked two seasons surveying Willow Flycatcher populations throughout the Sierra Nevada, her last year has been spent with the NPS Coho and Steelhead Monitoring Program at Point Reyes National Seashore. Having grown up barely 30 minutes from Point Reyes in Novato, California, Vienna is grateful to continue her work with the “fish crew,” splashing in familiar creeks and learning from the illustrious salmonid species.
