Tamika Chin Whitenack

Tamika is grateful for her childhood among the wonders of California’s ecosystems, growing up in the Bay Area and exploring outdoors on family road trips. She holds a deep belief in the positive power of nature connection, especially for youth. After studying Environmental Studies and Education at Vassar College, she returned to California and spent several years working in school garden education, relishing in the joys of fresh vegetables and the transformative magic of compost. As she strengthened her love of hiking, camping, and backpacking adventures in parks and wilderness areas, she wanted to develop a more reciprocal relationship with these non-cultivated land spaces. Tamika is excited to co-create learning opportunities with youth and environment at PRNSA, seeking to foster educational experiences that nourish student well-being and build community.
