Lisa Krieger

Lisa is a veteran Bay Area journalist, covering science, the environment and medical research news for The San Jose Mercury News/Bay Area News Group and previously, The San Francisco Examiner/Chronicle. She loves science writing because it connects the head with the heart, engaging and educating the public about important new fields of research.  The daughter of an outdoor education teacher, she’s a life-long hiker, photographer and amateur naturalist.  Lisa also serves on the board of the Palo Alto Historical Association.  Lisa teaches part-time at the graduate level Science Communication Program at UC-Santa Cruz. Over the pandemic, Lisa was able to fulfill a lifelong dream to move from Palo Alto to Inverness Park and work remotely.  She loves sharing PRNSA’s work with friends, family, and the local community she is getting to know and would enjoy supporting PRNSA’s communications efforts. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University.
